This is now YOUR space. During sessions you can curl up on the couch, we can sit on the floor, play games, use sports and other interventions that work for you. When choosing the RIGHT therapist for your teen ( or if you are a teen)… it is important to love the space that becomes safe, fun, and your second home.
My Background
Hi, I'm Nicole and it is so nice to meet you! You found me, and it looks like you’ve also found a cheerleader, friend, safe space and a therapist you’ll be working with too. Therapy can be such a life changing experience, and finding a therapist who can remind you of the light when it is lost, the confidence when we are at a lower point, the calm when we feel anxiety ridden and the humor when we cant get ourselves to laugh, is refreshing. I bring energy, love & humor into my sessions. I am also excited to share some great qualities I have as a therapist to help you feel informed and excited to work with me.
I have worked extensively with children, youth, young adults, parents, families and groups that are experiencing mental health disorders or obstacles. I use an empathic and holistic approach when working with clients and love to emphasize the healing factors of music, movement, and mindfulness. I bring livelihood, humor, vibrancy and energy into therapy sessions to make all of my clients feel at home. My goal is to help you overcome psychological obstacles, heighten your self esteem, strengthen the relationships around you and work with you to increase your quality of life. I am experienced in individual, group and family therapy.
What makes Nicole stand out in her work with kids?
Themed sessions ( we celebrate holidays and birthdays in the therapy room).
Show up to therapy in your pajamas - come as you are!
Lets GO SOMEWHERE- the beach? the park? I have sessions outside of my office for kids who like to switch things up or need an incentive to regularly attend therapy.
I want my kiddo to receive love and support from a therapist. How can therapy help my child?
Mixture of Art, Play, Sports and Movement in Therapy
The right therapist will integrate fun, humor, excitement and learning through therapy with kids. I love to play freeze dance, uno and games such as the “ungame” which ask children to elaborate on important things in their life. I paint, make sticker charts, throw a football and play board games. Using games can be an outlet and can make communicating easier for kids! I also use reward systems that can mean therapy “parties” when we have good week(s).
Art therapy
Some kiddos just want to paint to their favorite song and talk when the music gets quiet. No problem! I am an experienced art therapist that uses color, fun art projects and prompts to help kids articulate emotions through painting, drawing, scribbling or coloring.
